U7 (2017 & 2018)

Welcome to the learn to play division. This is the starting point for softball, where we introduce the rules through games and activities in a fun and active way. Your child will have fun while learning to play softball in this program.

Equipment Required: Runners (cleats optional), glove, and helmet with a chin strap (we will have loaner helmets if needed). A jersey is provided. Home Park is Grahame Park

U9 (2015 & 2016)

U9 is the exciting bridge between ‘Learn to play’ and the U11 division. We will introduce more of the rules and rotate through the different positions on the field. Skill development is the focus at this age Practices will teach the players the rules and skills of softball through fun games and drills and games are fun focused where every player hits and runs the bases. Coaches pitch and players can use a batting-T if necessary. The goal is to give every player the ability to succeed.

Equipment Required: Runners (cleats recommended), glove, helmet with a cage and a chin strap. A jersey is provided.

U11 (2013 & 2014)

This is the last division that is encompassed in the Softball Canada Learn to Play program. We will introduce more of the rules, run games with umpires and develop pitching and other skills throughout the season. Skill development is still the focus at this age and sessions will alternate between practices and games. Practices will teach the players the rules and skills of softball through fun games and drills, and games will introduce more rules and have umpires, outs, and stealing bases. This is the first division that we have player pitchers.  Coaches will pitch after a pre-determined number of pitches for the first half of the season, and players will pitch full games for the second half of the season.

Equipment Required: Cleats, black ball pants, belt, glove, infielders mask and helmet with a cage and a chin strap. Catchers require a Jill protective cup. A jersey is provided.

U13C (2011 & 2012); U15C (2009 & 2010); U17C (2007 & 2008); U20C (2004, 2005 & 2006)

The Recreational program is for players with and without experience and is a place for athletes who enjoy both the competitive and social aspects of fastball. Focused on further developing fundamental skills through positive instruction and encouragement, the program is suited for players who want to learn and have fun, but do not necessarily want the high pressure that goes along with rep level competition.  Teams are open to everyone and are balanced based on years of experience.  Players can expect weekly practices and games.

Equipment Required: Players require a glove, helmet, infielder mask, black softball pants, and cleats. Catchers require a Jill protective cup. A jersey is provided.
